RMC's Miller appointed Wastelink chief executive

The Wastelink Group has appointed Brian Miller as chief executive.

Miller (pictured) was managing director of RMCs (UK) waste control division until it was sold to Severn Trent last year.

His division included Hales Waste Control, the UKs sixth largest waste collection business. It dealt with landfill and waste recovery, tyre recovery, and recycling and commercial vehicle repair activities with a turnover of £120 million employing more than 1,200 people.

Miller has spent almost all his career in the waste management industry and has held a number of voluntary positions in industry bodies, including the Environmental Services Association.

In his new role he will be responsible for the activities of Wastelink Services and Wastepack. He said he was delighted to have the opportunity to help shape its future development.

Key factors will be continuing emphasis on customer care, operational focus and the development of our team.

Wastelink Group chairman Eric Priestley said: Brians experience of so many aspects of waste management and recycling will be of great benefit to us in managing the continuing growth of our business. We are confident that he will make an immediate and important contribution to our activities.
