Organisers of RWM 07 have hailed it as the best ever after receiving unofficial visitor figures. Subject to an audit by ABC later in the year, initial figures suggest that 8,079 people attended the show as visitors. When people attending as exhibitors, press or other staff are taken into account, the total attendance was 10,593. This compares to the audited attendance in 2006 of 7,160 visitors and a total attendance of 9,235. The event was held last week at the NEC and featured more than 450 exhibitors from the recycling and waste management sector. Event manager Gerry Sherwood said: I am delighted at how well RWM 07 went this year and I think the vast majority of people visiting or exhibiting had a really successful show. Next year, Im sure RWM 08 from 16-18 September at the NEC will be even bigger and better. Last week also saw the audited figures released from the annual CIWM conference and exhibition that was held in Torbay in June. 4,579 visitors attended with a total attendance of 6,153.
