RWR launches composting roadshow

Residents in south west London are being urged to compost their kitchen and garden waste at home as part of a new recycling campaign spanning four local authority areas.

The Recycle Western Riverside (RWR) composting roadshow will visit garden centres and DIY stores as well as knocking on doors to explain to residents how to begin composting.

Campaign manager Sam Jarvis said: Remarkably around a third of our rubbish can be composted, so by setting up a composter you can dramatically reduce the amount of rubbish you put out for the bin men. Our campaign will show that composting is fun, easy and can save you money.

RWR is a five-year initiative funded by Cory Environmental through the landfill tax credit scheme and which covers the London boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Lambeth, Wandsworth and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
