Russell Richardson and Sons deliver a safe, secure and fully compliant shredding and waste management service that includes document shredding, data, media, hard drive, uniform and product destruction. The vast majority of our work is done onsite, dealt with by our fleet of modern, low emission and high capacity shredding vehicles.
Q: How does it work?
We shred our client’s confidential materials onsite, at their premises and issue all the paperwork required to comply with waste and data protection legislation. In addition recent waste disposal and segregation legislation along with the waste hierarchy means businesses have even more responsibilities that we can assist with.
Q: What business use your service?
It’s often assumed that a secure shredding service is only suitable for larger companies; however, organisations of all sizes must comply with the Data Protection Act and SME’s can often be vulnerable to corporate identity theft and espionage. Obviously though, there are certain sectors that deal with highly confidential information and for them a regular secure shredding service is an imperative, e.g. solicitors, health organisations and government departments.

After a lengthy benchmarking exercise, Whitefriars Housing Association in the Midlands recently implemented an onsite secure shredding service via Russell Richardson for all its waste paper across 10 sites, representing approximately 14.5 tonnes of paper per year.
Q: Overall cost of service?
The cost of depends on the volume of confidential paper/products produced and the number of sites occupied. What it does represent is a surprisingly low chunk of security budget, with prices for a regular service starting in the region of £500 per year.
