Science teaches children the art of recycling

An interactive display designed by the Science Museum to help educate children about the benefits of recycling has been given its first run out.

Youngsters at the Lambeth County Show enjoyed using the colourful, visual and tactile facility.

Recycling Explained was commissioned by the Rethink Rubbish Western Riverside campaign, a five-year initiative in south London funded by Landfill Tax Credits.

It is set to head off on a roadshow across the London Boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham, Lambeth, Wandsworth and Kensington and Chelsea.

A spokesman for the campaign said: The display is a memorable and entertaining way for people of all ages to learn about recycling.

Everyone who has seen the display clearly engages with it and is surprised when they realise just how easy it is to recycle and buy recycled products.
