Security gives off-site progress

What is your product?

B&M Secure Shredding has bought a high capacity shredder from Meltog so it can take its off-site confidential shredding service in-house. Previously the company relied on third parties but growing customer demand led B&M to invest in its own high capacity shredder to handle the service directly.

The shredder destroys materials to British Security Industry Association (BSIA) standards at our secure shredding compound.

How does it work?

Its high capacity means that even large volumes of confidential documents can be securely shredded to BSIA standards. The service is offered across the North West of England.

How is it different?

It has been exclusively designed for the confidential shredding industry. Product benefits include; greater efficiency, consistent shred size and accurate timing of cutting knives to reduce ‘stringing’. The result of this impeccable design reduces the time needed for the shredding process to take place, so more material can be processed in one day.

Where would it ideally be used?

B&M Secure Shredding provides an off-site shredding service for its customers. Our CRB checked operatives, vetted to BS 7858 standards collect security bags from the customers’ site and securely transport it to our secure shredding compound where all the materials are destroyed.

What benefits does it offer?

Using the new confidential system gives us peace of mind that our processes are compliant and efficient.

The off-site shredder is very efficient and we can now shred more materials each day. This efficiency is passed on to our customers as we are able to keep our costs competitive.

How is it future-proofed?

Legislation is ever changing and developing. In our sector, we have to consider Data Protection legislation, in addition to environmental legislation. The design of the shredder means that we are more than meeting the BSIA standards for shred size, so if this should become more stringent we are confident that we will have the best technology to still ensure maximum data security for our customers.

Any future applications?

We were so impressed with the technology of this shredder that we are looking to invest in similar technology for our on-site mobile shredding vehicles. We believe that our customers should be offered the best available technology to ensure compliant confidential information destruction, whether on-site or off-site. Watch this space.
