Seed of recycling message is planted

A flower bed planted with the recycling logo and words Recycle Now will continue to spread the recycling message after initially promoting Recycle Now Week.

Planted by Telford & Wrekin Council, the eyecatching flower bed is prominently placed next to traffic lights in the area of Ketley.

The display, planted as a partnership between the council and contractor Telford & Wrekin Services, will remain in place until the first hard frosts because it is intended to continue to send out the recycling message after Recycle Now Week. Durable plants were chosen specifically for this reason.

A council spokesman said: The bed has attracted a lot of attention, and we hope it is a more unusual way of getting the important message of recycling across to our residents and visitors.
