Shanks strengthens Scottish interests

Shanks Waste Management has continued to strengthen its Scottish interests with the acquisition of the assets of Edinburgh-based Eden Recycling.

The acquisition from Murray International holdings includes Eden’s Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) in Edinburgh and will further strengthen Shanks’ position in the region.

Shanks Waste Management managing director Ian Goodfellow said: “This purchase enhances our other recent acquisition in Scotland and continues to increase our market share, while delivering upon our strategy of landfill diversion.”

Shanks have also acquired Eden’s Glasgow assets in a move which will compliment the company’s recent £1 million investment in its existing Blochairn MRF.
