Sita UK and Tradebe to form joint clinical waste business

Sita UK and Tradebe will form a joint venture for the management of clinical waste.

The waste management companies have announced that they are in “advanced negotiations” to form a joint clinical waste business.

The new company will combine the clinical waste divisions of Sita UK and Tradebe and provide clinical waste management services to England and Wales.

Tradebe’s clinical waste division was formed in 2011 after the acquisition of Doncaster-based Britcare.

It is licenced to handle over 18,000 tonnes of healthcare waste per year, operating from sites in Doncaster, Birmingham and Bristol. It also has an incinerator for hazardous waste located in Fawley.

Sita UK’s clinical waste division was formed in 2011 following the acquisition of Polkacrest, previously a subsidiary of London Waste. Sita operates three high-temperature incinerators for high-grade waste.
