Waste management firm Sita UK has teamed up with Catalyst Lend Lease (CLL), a public private partnership (PPP) infrastructure specialist, to bid for a number of PPP waste management contracts in the UK.
Industry experts claim that as banks become more risk averse in the current economic climate, waste companies are seeking to get funding from alternative sources. But Sita will still use external funders to finance its projects.
CLL director Bevan Watson said: We plan to work in partnership, building on our respective track records with local authorities and commercial clients, offering them a choice of cost effective and sustainable solutions that will meet their waste disposal targets for many years to come.
Sita UK business development director John Scanlon said: We are looking forward to partnering with CLL on a number of PPP contracts that we are pursuing. Sita UKs experience in providing innovative recycling and waste management solutions, coupled with the wide PPP experience that both companies have, will ensure that together we can offer value for money solutions that achieve the results our customers are looking for.
CLL has £2.3 billion worth of PPP investments in the UK. These include hospitals, schools and government offices.
