Sita wins in North Lincolnshire

Sita has been awarded a seven-year recycling contract with North Lincolnshire Council.

The contract, beginning November 2012, includes recycling collections, bring sites, receiving council collected recyclables and transporting materials from household recycling centres.

The previous contractor was Palm Recycling.

Cllr Nigel Sherwood, cabinet member for highways and neighbourhood at North Lincolnshire Council, said: “This contract is very significant as it will set the boundaries for recycling over the next seven years.

“Many residents are recycling regularly, but there are those that don’t bother and it is these people we need to target to find out why this is and somehow try and encourage them to do so.”

Nick Browning, logistics general manager at SITA UK said: “We are delighted to be working with North Lincolnshire Council and look forward to providing local homes and businesses with a quality service that delivers high levels of recycling.”
