Strict controls now in place for waste paper exports to India

The Indian Government has enforced a new licensing system to strictly control the quality of Western waste paper imports.From 25 April, waste paper imports to India are subject to inspection by an independent approved pre-shipment inspection agency. This is due to new rules that ensure imports do not contain any municipal solid waste, post-consumer domestic waste or medical waste or any other type of hazardous contaminant.
