Entries for this year’s National Recycling Awards are up by 30% on last year, the organisers have announced.
Judges have now begun short-listing for the 16 categories ranging from ‘best partnership’ to ‘best recycled product’. The awards event, which is run by MRW, will be staged in London on 3 July.
MRW editor Robin Latchem said it was exciting to see an increasingly wide range of entries.
“The message is getting through to more and more people working right across the economy that waste has a real value and businesses that do not exploit the waste they create are wasting money - in effect, hitting their bottom line,” Latchem said.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing the shortlists that our group of experienced industry judges come up with in March - and celebrating with them in July. It’s a special evening.”
