TD Clothing expands 'cash for clothing' drop-off point network

TD Clothing is expanding its textile recycling service with ‘cash for clothing’ drop-off points, following successful trials across the north east.

Enviroclothes, the company’s division that covers the drop-off points, has now opened its seventh location in North Tyneside, after trialling six points in the past year. More than 300 customers are now using the drop-off points every day.

Enviroclothes offers customers around £5 per 12.5kg of unwanted clothing, soft toys or home furnishings.

TD Clothing management systems manager Laura Greener said: “During the trial period, we experienced a significant amount of growth in the usage of our service. In the first six months of this financial year, purchases have already increased by 132% on last year.”
