Textile recycling summit set for Miami

The first international textile recycling summit is to be held as part of the Bureau of International Recycling’s World Recycling Convention in Miami.

BIR said this would be the first time that all major stakeholders in the international textile recycling industry would gather to discuss industry trends, concerns, and emerging markets.

The event brings together textile recycling companies, non-profit organisations involved in textile recycling, apparel manufacturers, academics and governmental agencies.

BIR’s textiles division is co-organising the event with the Secondary Materials and Recycled Textiles Association and the Council for Textile Recycling.

The textile summit takes place on 2 June, the first day of the BIR’s three-day convention at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami, Florida.
