Topshop partners with TRAID

High street clothing chain Topshop has partnered with fashion recycling charity Textile Recycling for Aid and International Development (TRAID) to encourage customers to recycle old clothes.

TRAID chief executive Maria Chenoweth-Casey told MRW: TRAID has partnered with Topshop to give the Topshop customer an outlet to be responsible with their unwanted cast offs by offering in store recycling facilities at selected Topshop stores. The project to date has generated half a tonne of textiles, which is being sold within TRAID stores, which raises money to further TRAIDs recycling activities and international development projects.

A Topshop spokeswoman said that at the moment the project is being trialled in four stores but it will look to expand the scheme to more outlets.
