Viridor has made two new senior appointments, saying they reflect the company’s growth strategy and a £1.5bn investment programme in recycling and energy recovery infrastructure.
Phillip Piddington, left, joins as chief operating officer – energy while Paul Ringham becomes commercial director.
Piddington will join Viridor from gas and electricity company RWE, where he has been responsible for its international biomass business.
The company has plants and offices in Germany, the UK, Italy, Spain and the US.
Ringham, right, is leaving BT, where he was most recently vice-president for local and devolved government within BT’s Global Services.
Viridor chief executive Ian McAulay said: “I’m pleased to welcome new colleagues of such high calibre and we all look forward to working with them.
Paul and Phillip’s expertise and experience will provide valuable additions to the Viridor team in these key areas for our ambitious business.”
