US-based electronic waste management firm E-Waste Systems has struck a deal with S2S Electronics in Rotherham that will expand its presence in the UK and Europe.
S2S, which has been in business for more than 20 years, specialises in WEEE recycling and refurbishing mobile phones and IT equipment for resale. It has signed an agreement and a memorandum of understanding with E-Waste Systems, which is headquartered in California.
Under the deal with E-Waste Systems, the two companies will collaborate on reverse logistics (the process of bringing a product back from consumer to manufacturer) across the UK and Europe.
Martin Nielsen, founder and chief executive at E-Waste Solutions said: “This is going to be another milestone in our business plan giving us a footprint in Europe and expanding our branded operations.
“Discarded electronics remain a big problem and partnering with S2S, a very experienced company, provides us the infrastructure to fulfil our commitments while achieving the highest standards and zero and landfilling within Europe.”
S2S managing director Alan Dukinfield added: “The partnership with E-Waste allows us to bring an established solution to a wider audience, to share standards and processes and be part of the worldwide solution for asset recovery.”
