An annual general meeting (AGM) at which Valpak members were to vote on proposals for a management buyout of the company has been postponed until September.
In a brief statement issued on 18 August - the date of the original AGM, Valpak announced that the meetings had been adjourned until 29 September at 3pm.
Spokesman for the independent directors Gerald Orbell said: “Any member who missed the opportunity to vote, now has until 27 September to do so.”
The meeting of Valpak members follows a letter sent from chairman Lord Deben, proposing to restructure Valpak as a limited liability company, chaired by its current executive management team.
In his letter, Deben stated that Valpak, “cannot continue to rely on legislated producer responsibility regimes alone”.
