Veolia buys solvent recovery business

In a move to broaden its offering Veolia Environmental Services has bought the solvent recovery arm of the Albion Chemical Group.

The Liverpool-based Albion Distillation Services (ADS) has 23 staff recovering a range of solvents and providing toll recycling services, which means returning cleaned or recovered solvents to major pharmaceutical and agrochemical companies to be used again. The company also supplies recovered solvents to the petrochemical industry.

Veolia chief executive Jean-Dominique Mallet said: The acquisition of ADS represents an excellent fit with our business and will allow us to expand our industrial market share. The move will broaden our offering to existing and potential customers in the industrial sector which represents an important part of our future development.
