Veolia gets grounds for success

Veolia Environmental Services has announced that it has got two new waste contract extensions in Rushmoor, Hampshire and Surrey Heath.

The Rushmoor Borough Council contract extension, from April 2009, is for an additional seven years of services including refuse and recycling collections, street cleaning, highway verges and parks and grounds maintenance.

The Surrey Heath landscapes extension includes services to parks, grounds and garden maintenance and is effective from February 2009.

Rushmoor Borough Council cabinet member for the environment Roland Dibbs said: We take tremendous pride in Rushmoor and demand high standards for our frontline services, such as refuse and recycling collections, street cleaning and maintenance of our parks and open spaces, as we know how important these are to residents.

Veolia executive director Tom Spaul said: After a constructive period of consultation with both councils and our operations managers, the re-instatement of these longstanding contracts reflects our vision to develop effective partnerships with councils and deliver continued high quality and value for money services.
