Veolia recycling trucks damaged in fire at Tottenham depot

Explosions were reported coming from Veolia Environmental Services’ recycling truck depot on Park View Road, Tottenham this morning after a fire destroyed a number of vehicles.

It is not yet known whether the fire is connected to the riots that have taken place across London since Saturday 6 August, which began in Tottenham. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

A Veolia Environmental Services spokesperson said: “At approximately 12.30am on Wednesday 10th August there was an incident at the depot in Haringey.
“Police and the Fire Brigade attended the scene and there were no reported injuries. We can assure residents that services have not been disrupted.”

The Household Waste Recycling Centre adjacent to the vehicle depot was not harmed by the blaze.
