Verdant takes over four Greenstar recycling contracts

Waste processing company Verdant, now part of Greenstar UK, is expanding its local authority customer portfolio.

It is taking over the operational management and service delivery of four recycling collection contracts that had been run by Greenstar. They include East Lothian Council, Cannock Chase District Council,
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and South Staffordshire Council.

A Verdant spokesman said: This will add 15-20% to Verdants local authority customer base and it signals that Greenstar is looking to develop the Verdant brand further in the municipal marketplace.

Greenstar acquired Verdant last November and the transfer of its municipal contracts over to Verdant is part of ongoing integration.

Verdant managing director Roger Edwards said: Verdant has specialist expertise in managing flexible, efficient waste and recycling services for local authorities, so its the right thing for us to take them over.

Were particularly pleased that Verdant now has a presence in the north of
England, as well as Scotland, for the very first time.
