Warwickshire County Council is inviting potential bidders for its residual waste contract to a Waste Industry Day on 17 June.
The council currently relies on landfill for its residual waste, and the contract would deal with 50,000-70,000 tonnes a year over its 25-year life.
Head of environment and resources Martin Stott said: “The industry day is an important step towards solving the long-term problem of landfill within our authority. We are looking to engage companies to help us develop an environmentally sustainable solution for our residents.”
Presentations will be made on existing contractual arrangements and Warwickshire’s waste strategy, and participants will be able to speak directly to the council’s waste management officers.
