Ten people have been living on a rubbish dump for three weeks as part of a Channel 4 documentary Dumped. The programme will show how the members of the public survived while only eating, wearing, sheltering in or using other peoples rubbish. The programme makers are calling it the ultimate TV recycling challenge and said: Dumped aims to highlight the huge amount of food, clothing and other goods needlessly thrown away in the UK. Many of them have never given a second thought to what they chuck out before, and the project will bring them face to face with the reality of Britains rubbish mountains. Filmed at Viridors Beddington Lane recycling and landfill plant near Croydon in June, the programme is expected to be shown later this year. Participants health and safety was carefully monitored throughout the project, and they were free to leave at any point.
