Waste Recycling Group acquires CAW

Waste management company Waste Recycling Group (WRG) has acquired recycling firm CAW based in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. The business has an annual turnover in the region of £5 million.

The acquisition will build on the presence that WRG has in Cumbria which includes collection, recycling, clinical and liquid waste disposal and landfill.

WRG external affairs general manager Mike Snell said: This is another step in the general development and growth of the business which will add importance to the recycling and resource side of the business and add value to that part of the world.

WRG will use the acquisition to continue to invest in developing waste and resource management and recycling operations which will further expand the services it offers to customers in Cumbria and the South Lakes.

CAW was founded by Dave Armer in 1992 and employs 30 people. The business will be absorbed as part of WRGs operations in Cumbria.

WRG is part of Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas (FCC), the international construction services group.
