Waste sector's 'first' buying group launches

Supply and Save, the waste industrys first buying group has been launched, promising to save its members money.

A buying group is a firm, which combines the purchasing power of individual companies in order to deliver significant cost savings on commonly bought items such as fuel, insurance, containers, vehicle maintenance and training.

The group has estimated that through its system members will see average savings of up to 15 per cent.

Supply and Save commercial director Ross Simons said: We believe we will have a major impact on the industry and radically change the way private waste companies buy goods and services. Some suppliers to the market will like our approach, but we are under no illusions that some will see us as a threat.
