Waste Watch to appoint first chief exec

Environmental charity Waste Watch has announced it will be appointing its first chief executive.

The organisation, which seeks to positively change public behaviour towards waste and recycling, said it was looking to further strengthen its council of management.

Waste Watch chairman Matthew Bennett said: 2006 was a very successful year for the organisation. Our experts in communications, education and research helped make last year the best financially for Waste Watch in many years. We are now looking forward to an even better 2007, as we seek to invest more into the organisation and expand our services.

The new chief executive should help us build on our recent achievements and lead the organisation into new areas, where we can use our expertise to help meet the huge challenges posed by climate change.
