WEEE Regulation guidance released

Guidance for the WEEE Regulations coming into effect on 1 January 2014 has been released by the Government.

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) published the guidance document today explaining the requirements of the draft WEEE Regulations 2013. It will help businesses dealing with waste electronics to comply with the new laws.

Under the regulations collection targets will be set for compliance schemes and there will be a “compliance fee” to pay if these targets are not met.

BIS’s interim guidance will be reviewed once a final version of the draft European Commission WEEE guidance is published.
