Wind turbine to be built by a well known paper supplier

A well known paper supplier plans to erect a wind turbine as part of its sustainable solutions programme.

The James McNaughton Group will install the turbine at its hilltop site in Leicestershire.

It is capable of producing over 2 million kWh of renewable and zero emission energy and should supply all of the 200,000 sq ft sites electricity for the next 30 years, reducing McNaughtons carbon emissions by over 760 tonnes per annum.

All of McNaughtons sites have already been converted to 100% renewable green electricity.

Commenting on the plan McNaughtons director for corporate responsibility said: This is another exciting step in our environmental plan. We have already made a reduction of our energy consumption in excess of 20% and the installation of a wind turbine will represent a further step towards a more environmentally sustainable business.

The turbine is planned to be in place by the end of 2008.
