WRAP focus on construction industry

The biggest consumer of material resources - the construction industry - has been targeted to play a leading role in materials resource efficiency.

As it uses some 420 million tonnes of material per year, the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) has chosen to work closely with the sector to demonstrate the commercial benefit of materials resource efficiency measures.

WRAP will offer seven interactive workshops in March and April on materials resource efficiency in regeneration projects. These will be aimed at those in demolition and new build projects, describing how to achieve resource efficiency through design, procurement and materials recovery and re-use.

The free workshops will be run by experts from WRAP, EnviroCentre, BRE and TRL and will feature local case studies. They will take place in venues across England and Scotland.

Places can be booked by email: conferences@trl.co.uk or visit www.trl.co.uk/events
