WRG unveils £1.3 million upgrade

Waste Recycling Group (WRG) has unveiled a £1.3 million upgrade at a household waste recovery centre in Boston.

The work was conducted on behalf of Lincolnshire County Council (LCC), with the new-look facility bigger and providing more convenience for the thousands of local residents who use it.

Included is a fully covered drive-through facility which enables visitors to conveniently park and drop all waste and recyclables directly into containers from an elevated platform with waiting times also dramatically reduced.

Improved signage, enhanced security and longer opening hours have also been introduced with the facility now managed by WRGs own service team.

Welcoming these improvements, Boston South county councillor Richard Austin said: I hope these major improvements in accessibility and convenience will encourage more members of the public to use the facility, and make an even greater contribution to increasing recycling rates in the area.

The move is part of WRGs commitment to help the county council develop new and improved recycling facilities across the county area.

Future plans will see the introduction of an indoor materials recycling facility for the sorting, packing and distribution of a wide range of recyclables and a waste transfer station to process and distribute all the remaining material that cannot be recycled.
