Yorwaste launches new waste recycling scheme

Waste management company Yorwaste has introduced commingled new waste recycling and collection service especially for small businesses in York and North Yorkshire.

Yorwaste sales and marketing manager Ken Davidson said: Small businesses often want to do their bit to protect the environment but either cant find a contractor willing to collect small volumes of mixed materials on a regular basis or else are unsure of the business case for recycling.

We intend to solve these issues by championing the environmental aspirations of the small and medium-sized enterprise sector.

Davidson said that a recent survey by the Waste & Resources Action Programme showed that 93% of companies that started to recycle said it was easy to implement and maintain.

Recycling at work is the sensible, sustainable thing to do, Davidson added. Recycling waste materials means less rubbish goes to landfill and, with landfill tax rising by 33% this year from £24 to £32 per tonne, our new service will save firms significant amounts of money.
