+House gathers and organises a critical mass of people engaged in waste-reducing activity in a visible and accessible space in a municipality.
It is designed by architects RaumlaborBerlin in collaboration with myself.
It consists of a temporary and flexible organisation that supports local associations, small businesses and enthusiasts to gain exposure in the market by providing them with a shared space, tools and a joint marketing apparatus. And it gives the public an inspiring space to build a new waste culture.
+House should be seen as a public investment that brings social and economic returns and helps to build new waste economies. Its inspiration comes from urban gardens and start-up hubs that are growing in popularity around the world. +House can be implemented anywhere using the same principles but each one will be original to its local context.
