What is your product/technology?
The Rotary is an automatic split bin lifter for front line domestic refuse collection vehicles.
How does it work?
When presented with a wheelie bin, it automatically lifts the bin to tip the contents into the hopper of a refuse collection vehicle.
Where would it ideally be used?
It is designed to be used to collect domestic refuse from wheelie bins in residential areas and commercial waste from large containers.
How is it different?
The lifter has been fully redesigned using feedback from the market to be focused on smooth safe operation, real life usage and ergonomic servicing.
What benefits does it offer?
The process, protection and servicing have all been improved – and the weight reduced so the new Rotary is Faun Zoeller’s best automatic lifter for payload. Benefits include: angled button stations for a safe working position and clear view of the controls; an independent bump bar which knocks the bin to dislodge waste and prevent over-tipping; ground-level servicing; an invisible safety system; sacrificial lower carriage to prevent accident damage to major parts; an inner wear plate to protect lifter from misshapen containers; high ground clearance so there is less damage and less downtime; control box on the nearside for ease of access and less downtime. It also has options including an Eco version to save fuel and CO2. And the software has been revamped with 500 parameters that can be customised to suit individual operations.
Where has it been used?
The first unit has been working at Havant Borough Council, the mechanical parts have been used in alternative models all over the world for the last three years.
The Lighter lifter means more rubbish on the vehicle so less visits to the tip. The Eco, or Electric version saves 100% of the fuel used for Bin lifting operations
What about maintenance?
Maintenance can be contracted to Faun Zoeller or done in house, we offer full workshop training courses. All service and maintenance information is clearly defined in a work shop manual. The lifter also has a number of features designed for ease of maintenance.
What is its life span?
This lifter can last up to 10 years regularly maintained.
How is it future-proofed?
This lifter is fully compatible with an up to date telematic system, the control software can be tweaked using 500 parameters or upgraded to future releases and there is a separate interface plug that is configures for use by third parties.
Any future applications?
This lifter is the start of a redevelopment plan of the lifter range
How many have you sold and where?
The lifter is the latest iteration of the Rotary lifter design and has just been released, it is replacing a lifter that has sold up to 300 units a year for the past 10 years.
