Compact shredder helps cut volume

What is your product?

The all-new Untha S25 shredder, the most compact machine in its range.

How does it work?

This small two shaft shredder is a flexible product for varied lightweight applications. It has been designed to satisfy customers’ previously unfilled need for a simple, cost-effective yet high quality shredder. The S25 is CE certified and is supplied to clients as a complete unit, meaning it is literally ready to ‘plug and go’. The shredding technology, with hopper, is mounted on a frame that allows the user to position a bin directly underneath to collect the shredded fraction.

Where would it ideally be used?

The focus of this machine is volume reduction. With its small footprint, the S25 shredder has been engineered specifically for organisations with waste storage issues and also site space constraints.

This flexible shredder can process a variety of materials making it perfect for applications including metal swarf, lightweight WEEE, C&I waste from warehouses and distribution centres, green waste and organic waste for small volumes of AD. Its compactness makes it ideal for isolated or space-restrictive working environments such as cruise ships or oil rigs.

How is it different?

The S25 is the first machine of its kind – in terms of size, purpose and price – that has been built to the same quality standards as a shredder that would cost hundreds and thousands of pounds.  For example, if has the same Siemens electrics and SKF bearings as a premium machine, but without the price tag.

What benefits does it offer?

The same benefits as all shredders within the Untha range – unparalleled uptime, ease of maintenance and operational efficiencies which ensure clients achieve an impressive return on investment.

As with other Untha models, this shredder is built to last, meaning it will provide customers with a safe and robust shredding solution for many years. Companies of all sizes need to better commit to the UK’s resource agenda, to avoid ever-increasing landfill charges if nothing else. With the S25 we are helping more organisations to do that.

Where has it been used?

The S25 has been available in Europe for some time, commonly processing organic waste on AD plants. We recognised the success that out Austrian parent company was having with this machine on the continent; therefore we sought to introduce it to the UK market. We are revealing it for the first time at RWM in September.

Cost?

Because the S25 is Untha’s most compact shredder, it is also our most cost-effective. Customers could purchase this machine from £16,500 or as little as £90 per week through one of our Untha Finance packages.

What is the life-span?

The life span of the S25 will vary depending on the client application and level of use. When an S25 has finished its first life with one organisation, more often than not we will be able to refurbish it for use by another company.

How is it future-proofed?

Waste targets are becoming ever more stringent, and organisations are increasingly being challenged to embrace smarter waste management processes.  By introducing the S25 we are enabling a greater number of companies to avoid escalating landfill charges and adopt more responsible practices, without breaking the bank.
