£2m fleet upgrade includes specialised pods

2000 binn group

Perthshire-based recycling and resource management company Binn Group is investing around £2m to upgrade and expand its fleet of collection vehicles.

The fleet currently rolling out of its Ecopark headquarters at Glenfarg includes four trade waste lorries with specialised waste stream pods, a top-loader dedicated food waste truck, three articulated lorries, two hook lift trucks and three skip carriers.

This sees Binn Group operate a fleet of more than 50 collection vehicles throughout Perthshire, Fife, Dundee, Angus and Stirlingshire.

Chief executive Allan MacGregor said the demand for more accurate and immediate data relating to waste collection and recycling grows and it needs to keep abreast of changing technology.

Helping to meet that requirement is the state-of-the-art technology on all its new vehicles, which includes on-board weighing to feed data straight through to its computer system, providing detailed recordings in real time for customers.
