Attachments make light work of former Primark warehouse

2000 worsley collins

Award-winning demolition attachments from Rotar are proving to be an asset to the growing success of Midlands-based Collins Demolition.

Part of the Collins Earthworks Group, the company uses excavators ranging from six to 75 tonnes fitted with a range of Rotar grabs, shears and pulverisers, all purchased from attachment specialist Worsley Plant.

The current job is the delapse of an enormous former Primark warehouse at Magna Park, Leicestershire, using a Rotar RSS30 scrap shear and a RG37 grab.

The work includes dismantling a mezzanine floor of 15,700sq m, and half of the factory is racking made of steel and other metal which is all being taken down for recycling.

Collins plans to work with Rotar in the long term and is considering future purchases, first a shear for a Volvo 300 machine and the trial of an MB crushing bucket to help recycle materials more easily on-site.
