Southport-based Concrete Company (CC) produces ready-mixed concrete to domestic and commercial customers. Starting initially with a grab wagon, the company now offers a clearance service to bring waste materials back to its yard for recycling.
It invested in a Remu XO 2150 screening bucket, available through Worsley Plant, to complement a second-hand MB BF60 crushing bucket bought three years previously.
The combination of buckets has allowed CC to screen about 1,000 tonnes of material that had accumulated in the yard. They screen out topsoil and crush hardcore, including quarry MOT, for selling on instead of being landfilled.
Using two buckets on one machine made the task a one-man job, and the business now has a new revenue stream.
Rod Keay, CC managing director, said: “The bucket works well in damp conditions, is durable and hard wearing. We’ve made transport, time, money, manpower and environmental saving from two buckets.”
