Corrosive liquids handled by glass-lined tanker

Mayglothling Waste has bought a glass-lined acid vacuum tanker to provide the safe transportation and treatment of acids and other hazardous corrosive materials, one of the few UK waste management providers able to safely deal with such waste.

For years, Mayglothling has transported a huge variety of liquid waste – from animal by-products to oils and fuels – but it was not able to offer corrosive material removal because its stainless-steel tanks were not appropriate.

Built to a high specification, its acid tanker has a resin-coated barrel made by specialist manufacturer Crossland Tankers. Key features include a hydraulically operated fully opening rear door, vapour scrubber system, vapour recovery lines, earth straps for flammable material and three manway lids for efficient washing between loads.

Mayglothling can now offer a complete transport and treatment service to the industrial sector, supported by an on-site chemist. Its expanding portfolio of services now includes hydrochloric acid and ferric chloride.
