Crushing bucket helped towards 100% recycling

On its most recent job, Valori London recycled 100% of materials on-site, thanks to use of an MB crushing bucket, hired from Worsley Plant.

Valori carries out demolition around the capital, including residential blocks, warehouses, city centre sites, incorporating façade retention, strip out, site clearance and materials recycling.

The latest project involved demolishing an old adventure playground building next to a school. The building had a steel frame with concrete slab and brick walls, and the demolition work involved removing the slab, recycling the hardcore and concrete, and putting in a site compound. Only the steel needed to be taken off-site to be recycled.

Use of the crushing bucket allowed materials to be crushed on-site and reused in the site compound. The bucket helped to save time and money which would have been spent on skip hire and dumper trucks, as well as reducing impact on the environment. Several days were saved on the overall project timings.

Brendan Walsh, Valori’s contract manager, said: “We are now converted to the benefits of using a crushing bucket. For us it is important to recycle all materials if possible, and to be able to do this on-site is a big plus!”
