Deal signed for remanufactured laptops

Portsmouth-based Circular Computing (CC), which remanufactures IT equipment, has signed an agreement with Synnex in the US, a company that provides distribution, logistics and integration services for the technology industry.

The deal is a route to providing a zero-carbon laptop delivered through the purchase of carbon credits and the planting of five trees for every laptop sold to Synnex customers.

CC has repurposed the IT inventories of large corporations and challenges the widespread default option of buying new equipment.

Its teams in the UK and UAE remanufacture thousands of laptops each month in a process that includes full or partial dismantling of the unit, battery replacement, component and screen upgrades, and replacement of storage media.

After testing, the product is delivered to the customer with a three-year warranty.
