Caterpillar’s 340F Ultra High Demolition (UHD) hydraulic excavator is engineered for high-reach demolition work.
It has up to 22m of vertical pin height, and can handle loads up to 3.6 tonnes at a 15m horizontal reach. Operating weights range from 44,100- 50,400kg.
A range of work tools ensure optimum versatility, and the operator’s cab is designed for safety and comfort.
Using the boom coupling system, the operator can easily install and remove high-reach or short-front components, while the hydraulic pinning system locks components together.
A short boom nose can be positioned in either a bent or straight position and fitted with three stick lengths.
The 340F UHD tool control system stores hydraulic pressures and flows for up to 20 tools, allowing instant adjustment of the parameters.
Its C9.3 Acert engine meets EU Stage IV emission standards and has a net power rating of 228kW (310PS). It has three power modes – high, standard and eco – to assist with fuel consumption. Auto idle shutdown stops the engine after a preset interval.
Implement hydraulics deliver a maximum flow of 570L/min at a relief pressure of 35,000kPa and, in heavy lift mode, system pressure increases to 38,000kPa.
