Excavator's camera system impresses

MJ Teale Plant Hire has been operating in Blackpool, Wyre and the Fylde Coast, Lancashire, for more than 40 years, specialising in recycled aggregate supply, bulk soil disposal and waste management alongside sister company, Blackpool Skip Hire.

MJ Teale has recently invested in a 14-tonne HX140 L excavator, its third Hyundai machine in 16 months, purchased through Cumbria-based dealer Taylor & Braithwaite.

Managing director Mick Teale said: “We had the HX140 L on demonstration and thought it was an excellent performer. Not only is the machine fuel efficient but it is also extremely quiet.

“I was really impressed with the AAVM camera system, where four cameras work together with the controller and produces a 360° image of the working range around the machine, including a 3D bird’s eye view.

“This system, as well as safeguarding the operator and site personnel, also means that the machine’s resale value will be greater as safety becomes more and more important on a job site.”
