Leicestershire-based Eximious Furniture has invested in a vertical RWM75 waste baler to tackle the amount of waste it produces.
Founded in 2002, this is the first time the manufacturer of bespoke corporate furniture has turned to baling technology.
Handling three material streams – cardboard, plastic and metal paint tins – the compact baling press from Riverside Waste Machinery is reducing the volume of unwanted packaging held in the company’s 1,700sq m factory.
Eximious commercial director Claire Geary said: “Initially, we looked into machinery that would crush paint tins, but we realised that we could minimise all waste materials produced during manufacturing, and our research brought us to Riverside.”
Easy to use, with a large feed aperture, the RWM75 has a pressing force of 3.5 tonnes and produces bales of up to 75kg. Using a simple chamber insert, the machine can also press tins and steel drums up to 30 litres.
