Food truck added to fleet

East Midlands resource management and recycling firm Wastecycle has added a state-of-the-art food waste truck to its fleet, capable of collecting up to seven tonnes of commercial food waste per trip.

Paul Clements, commercial director, said: “We won a contract with the East Midlands University Consortium, which called for a vehicle that could measure the weight of food waste produced at locations on each campus as a way of boosting waste reduction.

“The truck will allow us to recover a higher percentage of recyclable commodities from general waste since food waste is such a major contaminant.”
