Bobcat is launching the E10e electric mini-excavator, the industry’s first commercially available fully electric, zero tail swing (ZTS) vehicle in the one-tonne class.
With no emissions, a low noise operation and a width of 72cm, the E10e can pass through standard doors and in and out of lifts, making it ideal for indoor applications such as demolition and basement construction.
By coupling the E10e to an optional external Bobcat super-charger while operators are on work breaks, the E10e can operate for a full eight-hour working day. It offers low noise levels on-site with a sound pressure level of 64dBA compared with 80dBA for the standard E10.
All the systems and components have been optimised for work in harsh environments. Its patented electrohydraulic powertrain system fully utilises the electric motor capabilities, and all electric power-train components are fully sealed, meeting IP67 as well as construction equipment requirements for robustness.
The lithium-ion, maintenance-free battery pack with advanced management system is designed to fit within the standard machine envelope to maintain its ZTS profile, and can be fully recharged in 2.4 hours.
Its retractable undercarriage reduces the width to 710mm, and an integrated foldable tip over protective structure aids passage under low head-room. Once the excavator is positioned ready for work, the undercarriage can be expanded to 1,100mm for maximum stability.
