Gully services tracked

The drainage and street cleaning arm of B&M Waste Services is rolling out Trimble Units, asset management software and handheld devices.

Supplied by Korec, these have been tailored to plot gully access points to within one metre of their location using GPS technology. This is an improvement of 75% on the previous system, which could only plot to within 4m.

Gulley cleaning vehicles can therefore reduce their carbon emissions as they are able to park very close to each gulley first time. It also reduces paperwork because the operator uses the touchscreen device to record any blockages or defects, as well as how much silt a particular gulley holds.
