Haulage fleet is tracked

ACK Transport, based in Wollaston, Northamptonshire, is keeping an eye on its haulage fleet using a remote monitoring app from routeMASTER.

RouteMASTER is a cloud-based modular toolset, created by AGM Telematics, which comprises three components: planner, dispatch and tracking. Each module can be used individually or together to provide an end-to-end logistics back office solution.

As a long-time customer, ACK Transport was eligible to add the recently upgraded app free of charge to its existing routeMASTER fleet control system. This means that vehicle progress can be pinpointed in realtime, and access to the routeMASTER system is possible from any location.

ACK managing director Andrew Kevan says of the app: “We use the system to keep a check on vehicle locations. That’s handy when, for example, customers need to know an accurate arrival time. It is a good management tool which not only lets us monitor vehicles but also enables us to check time sheets remotely.”

ACK Transport runs an extensive curtainsider fleet and provides a nationwide general haulage service, including building products and electrical goods transport.

“With so many vehicles on the road, and with multi-drop delivery points, it is also important to keep vehicle idling to a minimum,” he said. “The routeMASTER system allows us to monitor each tractor for excessive idling, which helps to keep fuel bills down.”
