Loader linkage is extended

Volvo Super Long Boom Version

Suez UK has taken delivery of three Volvo L110H loading shovels, one of which is a Super Long Boom version (above) that has been deployed at the company’s North Tyneside Transfer Station.

This is the first Volvo loading shovel to have had its TP loader linkage extended to achieve a bucket pin height of 5.12m, enabling it to load high-sided walking floor trailers with ease.

The overall length of the machine has been increased by just over a metre to 7.54m. It has been further enhanced by adding solid wheel and tyre assemblies, allowing it to handle a direct mounted 4.5cu m high-tip bucket with a rated load of 4,050kg.

Powered by a Tier IV final Volvo eight-litre engine, developing 258 nett hp with a maximum torque of 1,250Nm at just 1,450rpm, the 19-tonne L110H also benefits from driveline components designed to offer considerable fuel savings each shift.

The L110H will handle more than 90,000 tonnes a year at the transfer station.
